Sindhri: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has reached Jharkhand. Here he inaugurated and laid foundation stones of projects worth Rs 35,700 crore. The authorities have given this information. Let us tell you that these projects include Hindustan Fertilizer and Chemicals Limited (HURL) Sindri Fertilizer Plant, developed at a cost of over Rs 8,900 crore, a step towards self-reliance in the urea sector.

What did PM Modi say?

On this occasion, PM Modi said that this is the beginning of employment for the youth of Jharkhand. At the same time, it is a step taken towards a self-sufficient India. We vowed to make the country self-sufficient in urea. Due to the efforts of our government, the production of urea has increased in the last 10 years. Along with Gorakhpur and Rama Gundam, the name of Sindri has also been added. Today, a new chapter of rail revolution is being written in Jharkhand. Many railway projects are starting here today. In the last 10 years, we have worked with tribal communities, poor, youth and women on priority. We have to make India a developed country by 2047.

Self reliance in urea sector

We inform you that this plant will increase the indigenous urea production in the country by about 12.7 LMT (Lakh Metric Ton) per annum, which will benefit the farmers of the country. This is the third fertilizer plant to be restarted in the country after the conversion of fertilizer plant at Gorakhpur and Ramagundam. Fertilizer plants at Gorakhpur and Ramagundam were dedicated to the nation by the Prime Minister in December 2021 and November 2022 respectively. Apart from this, the Prime Minister inaugurated and laid foundation stones of several railway projects in Jharkhand worth over Rs 17,600 crore. These include Sonnagar-Andal, Turi-Shivopur 1st and 2nd and Biratoli-Shivopur 3rd railway lines (part of Turi-Shivopur project), Mohanpur-Hansdeha new railway line, Dhanbad-Chandrapura railway line.

Extension of rail services

These projects will expand the railway services in the state and bring about socio-economic development in the region. During the programme, the Prime Minister also flagged off three trains, including the Deoghar-Dibrugarh train service, the MEMU train service between Tatanagar and Badum Pahar (daily) and the operation of a multi-coach goods train from Shivpur station.
