How to Apply in PM Surya Ghar Yojana: Modi government is giving the gift of free electricity to the people. An action plan has been prepared for this. The name of this scheme is PM Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme. The Union Cabinet approved the scheme last Thursday. Under this scheme, 1 crore households in the country will get 300 units of free electricity every month. This electricity will be available through solar panels on the roofs of the houses. Under this scheme, solar panels will be installed on houses from cities to villages. This will save people huge amount of money in electricity bills. Under this scheme, the government will invest a total of Rs 75,021 crore. Under the scheme, the subsidy will go directly into the bank accounts of the beneficiaries. Apart from this, loans will also be available at discounted rates.

Apply for the scheme like this.

Step 1. To apply you have to visit pmsuryagarh.gov.in website. After that go to ‘Apply for Rooftop Solar’.

Step 2. Select your state and your electricity distribution company for registration.

Step 3. Now enter your electricity customer number, mobile number and email id. Now follow the instructions given in the portal.

Step 4. Now in next step, login with user number and mobile number. Apply for rooftop solar energy according to the form.

Step 5. Now wait for feasibility approval from Discom. Once you get the feasibility approval, install the plant from one of the vendors registered with your discom.

Step 6. After the installation is complete, submit the plant details and apply for net meter.

Step 7. After installation of net meter and inspection by discom, you will be able to generate commissioning certificate from portal.

Step 8. Now after receiving the commissioning report, submit the bank account details and canceled checks through the portal.

Step 9. Now you will get the subsidy in your bank account within 30 days.
