A gift from the Modi government ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, cheap LPG cylinders will be available till March 31, 2025.

PM Ujola Scheme: Before the announcement of International Women’s Day and Lok Sabha election dates, the Modi government has taken a big decision. The Modi government has extended the subsidy on LPG cylinders for one year. Whether a general LPG consumer or a beneficiary of PM Ajjola Yojana, both will continue to get subsidy on LPG cylinders till March 31, 2025. In a cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, it has been decided to extend the subsidy period on LPG cylinders by one year.

Cheap LPG will continue till March 31.

On August 29, 2023, the Modi government had decided to provide subsidy on LPG cylinder refilling to people suffering from expensive LPG. The period of which was till 31 March 2024. But the dates of the Lok Sabha elections are going to be announced after which the code of conduct will come into force in the country. In such a case, it would have been difficult for the government to extend the duration of the scheme. In such a situation, probably in the last cabinet meeting of the second term of the Modi government on Thursday, the decision to give subsidy on LPG cylinders has been extended till March 31, 2025.

600 cylinder to beneficiaries of PM Ujola

The government provides a subsidy of Rs 200 per cylinder to the general consumer on refilling LPG cylinders. A domestic LPG cylinder worth Rs 1100 is available for Rs 900. While the beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Ujola Yojana are given a total subsidy of Rs.500. This means that beneficiaries of PM Ajjula Yojana will have to pay only Rs 600 for LPG refill. All domestic LPG gas consumers including beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Ujjala Yojana will get the benefit of subsidy on LPG cylinders.

The gift given by the Modi government ahead of the Lok Sabha elections will remain available till March 31, 2025.
