India won the 5-match Test series against England by 4-1. On the third day of the final match of the series played between the two teams at the Dharamsala ground, Team India won it by an innings and 64 runs. Also, this is the first time in the history of Indian Test cricket that the win and loss records are equal. After the defeat in the first match of this Test series, Team India had a one-sided performance in the remaining four matches. In Dharamsala as well, the Indian team managed to maintain the same form with captain Rohit Sharma and Shibman Gill excelling with the bat while Ravichandran Ashwin and Kuldeep Yadav were outstanding with the ball.

For the first time, Team India managed to equalize the win-loss record.

The Indian team has played 579 matches so far in the history of Test cricket, out of which Team India has won 178 matches, while it has faced defeat in 178 matches. This is the first time in the history of Test cricket that Team India has won as many matches as they have lost. Apart from this, Team India has drawn 222 matches while only one match has ended in a draw. The Indian team has now reached the fourth position in terms of wins in Test cricket. In this list, the Australian team is at the first position which has won 413 matches while the second position is the England team which has managed to win 392 matches.

England have suffered the most defeats in Test cricket.

If we talk about the teams that have lost the most matches in the history of Test cricket, the Indian team is at the fifth position with 178 matches lost. The first place in this list is the England team which has lost 324 matches in the history of Test cricket so far. The second place is the Australian team, which has lost 232 matches in Tests so far.
