This is a very helpful service for passengers who travel long distances by rail. During a long journey, if your station is scheduled to arrive between 11 pm and 7 am, this destination alert will be very helpful.

You will be woken up by a call or message.

A call or message is sent to the mobile number of the beneficiaries of this service 20 minutes before reaching the station. The special thing about this service is that you don’t need internet for it. However, for this you have to pay for calls or messages.

The destination alert has to be set in the same way.

  1. To set a destination alert, you need to dial 139 from your mobile number.
  2. After that you have to choose your language.
  3. After that you have to select 7 from the IVR menu.
  4. Then you have to press 2 for the destination alert.
  5. After that after entering the PNR number of the ticket you have to press 1 to confirm.
  6. The Destination Alert service will then start and you will receive a confirmation message.

In this way a destination alert will be set through SMS.

You have to type the alert and message it to 139 from your phone’s message app. With this your destination alert will be set. You just need to make sure that you call or send a message from the same number to which you want the destination alert service.
