There was 30% growth in FY24, how will the market fare in the last week?

During the last week, the country’s stock market was once again able to register a boom. Now there are only few trading days left in the market during this financial year. Let’s know how the market will fare in the remaining three days.

Now only 3 days business

The current financial year ends on March 31, 2024. Before this, only 3 days of business are left in the market. The stock market is closed on Monday, March 25 due to Holi. Thereafter, the market will conduct normal business on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. The market is going to be closed for Good Friday on Friday 29th March. The last two days of the financial year are Saturday and Sunday. Thereafter, the new financial year will begin on Monday, April 1, 2024.

This was the situation of the market last week.

The current financial year has so far proved to be the best for the domestic stock market. In this financial year, both the major domestic indices BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty have strengthened by 30% each. During the last week too, the market has seen an increase. Sensex has strengthened by 0.26% and Nifty by 0.33% in the last week. Earlier, the week ending March 15 was not good for the market. The Nifty fell by 2.09 percent during the week, while the Sensex fell by 1.99 percent. The four-week-long market rally was then cooled.

Current stock market levels

Talking about stock market levels, on Friday March 22, the Sensex gained 190.75 points (0.26 percent) to close at 72,831.94 points. The Nifty was up 84.80 points (0.39 percent) at 22,096.75 points. Both the indices have made new highs several times in the current financial year. Sensex and Nifty hit new all-time highs of 74,245.17 points and 22,526.60 points respectively.

The market is expected to remain volatile.

The market is likely to remain volatile in the last remaining weeks of the current financial year. Contracts drawn for the month of March expire during the week. This can create chaos in the market. 13 new IPOs are being launched during the week, while 2 new shares are being listed. Trends in global markets, crude oil prices and fluctuations in the dollar-rupee exchange rate can also affect the market.
