Kathmandu: Nepal’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Narayan Kazi Shrestha left for China on Sunday night on his first official visit after assuming the top post. Shrestha will hold talks with his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi during his visit. During his nine-day visit at Wang’s invitation, he will hold bilateral talks with his Chinese counterpart and meet high-level dignitaries, the foreign ministry said in a statement without giving details. Held various meetings on Sunday. Apart from this, he also interacted with the high officials of the ministries. Media reports quoting sources in the Ministry of External Affairs said that during his meeting with the Chinese leaders, Shrestha will mainly focus on implementing the previous agreements between the two countries.

Will meet the best big leaders.

Foreign Minister Shrestha will meet the Chinese Foreign Minister and several senior CPC leaders, including Chinese Vice Premier Kim, one of the seven leaders of the Standing Committee, Nepal’s Foreign Ministry Secretary Siva Lamsal told reporters. At least three states are involved. CPC party secretaries and ministers are the heads of the CPC foreign department.

The leaders scoffed.

Meanwhile, let us also mention here that CPN (UML) leaders have ridiculed Foreign Minister Shreshtha for such a long visit. CPN (UML) Publicity Department Head Vishnu Rizal has criticized the Foreign Minister’s nine-day long visit to XI. He wrote that how does the foreign minister get so much free time that he gets ready for a nine-day visit to China. There are many other important topics in Nepal’s foreign affairs that the foreign minister should deal with. Instead of worrying about the safe return of Nepali citizens stranded in Russia and Ukraine, the foreign minister’s nine-day visit to China is looking like a picnic. Nepal government needs to be sensitive in foreign and diplomatic matters.
