More than 2 years have passed since the Russia-Ukraine war, but no solution has been found yet. From the beginning, India has been calling for a negotiated end to the Russia-Ukraine war. PM Modi has good relations with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. In such a situation, Ukraine has high hopes from India. Zelensky has sent his foreign minister, Dmytro Koliba, to India in hopes of bringing peace to the Russia-Ukraine war. Zelensky hopes that PM Modi and S Jaishankar will talk to Russia to find some kind of peace solution to the war.

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Koliba is meeting his Indian counterpart S Jaishankar in New Delhi today to push Kiev’s peace efforts amid the ongoing conflict with Russia. Kaliba, who began a two-day visit to the South Asian country on Thursday (March 28), also wants to strengthen ties between India and Ukraine. Apart from the meeting with External Affairs Minister (EAM) Jaishankar today (March 29), the Ukrainian Foreign Minister will also hold talks with India’s Deputy National Security Advisor Vikram Misri.

First visit of Foreign Minister of Ukraine to India

This is Koliba’s first visit to India after becoming the foreign minister of Ukraine in 2020. Koliba’s main agenda is to get India’s support for the peace summit to be held in Switzerland. Koliba is hopeful of getting India’s support for the international peace summit. Neutral Switzerland will likely host the conference in the spring. The dates for the summit have not been announced yet. The summit is planned to be held to gain support for President Volodymyr Zelenskiy’s 10-point peace proposal. Which Zelensky has always put in front of Russia. In January, Swiss President Viola Emhard said her country would host the World Peace Summit. “At the request of the President of Ukraine, Switzerland has agreed to host a summit on a peace formula,” the Swiss government said at the time.
