Stock market closed: After making a new peak, the stock market slumped, Sensex closed below 75 thousand

Stock Market Closure: The Indian stock market touched its all-time high today and set a new record. However, the market did not close at an all-time high and the Sensex-Nifty ended lower yesterday. Sensex and Nifty lost the day’s gains at the close of trading and the market closed in a declining range due to profit booking.

How did the market close?

Today BSE’s Sensex closed down 58.80 points at 74,683 and NSE’s Nifty closed down 23.55 points at 22,642.

Situation of Sensex and Nifty

In today’s trade, the Sensex touched an all-time high of 75,124.28 and the NSE Nifty touched an all-time high of 22,768.40. However, as the day progressed, profit booking dominated the market and dragged the market down. Sensex closed below 75,000 today.

The market cap, which crossed Rs 401 lakh crore in the morning, fell back below Rs 400 lakh crore by the time the market closed. Today, the market capitalization of companies listed on BSE has reached Rs 399.98 lakh crore.

Bank Nifty closes strongly.

Bank Nifty closed up 148.55 points or 0.31 per cent at 48,730.55. Out of 12 stocks in Bank Nifty, only 4 stocks closed with gains and 8 stocks closed with losses. Among the advancing stocks, ICICI Bank led the way with a gain of 1.83 percent, followed by Federal Bank which closed up 0.91 percent. Shares of Axis Bank and HDFC Bank also closed higher.
