Ghazipur: MLA Abbas Ansari will attend the Fatiha of his father Mukhtar Ansari today. For this, Abbas Ansari’s convoy has reached Gazipur District Jail from Kasganj Jail. After completing formalities at the district jail, Abbas will be taken to Mukhtar Ansari’s grave in Kalibagh. where he will participate in the Fatiha ceremony at his father’s grave.

The Supreme Court gave permission.

The Supreme Court had allowed MLA Abbas Ansari to attend the ‘Fatiha’ ceremony of his father Mukhtar Ansari. After the Uttar Pradesh government expressed apprehension about maintaining law and order, the Supreme Court ordered Abbas Ansari to be taken from Kasganj jail to his native Gazipur police custody with adequate security.

Abbas will participate in the Fatiha in police custody.

Abbas will be allowed to attend the Fatiha in police custody on Wednesday and will be temporarily shifted to the local jail in Gazipur after its conclusion, the court said. The bench said that the Gazipur district administration would confirm whether another ritual is to be held on April 11 and if so, allow Abbas to attend it in police custody. The court said that Abbas should be allowed to meet his family on April 11 and 12. The court asked that he be brought back to Kasganj jail on April 13.

The Supreme Court has issued these instructions.

The court said that the police will search the guests to ensure that no one takes weapons to the venue of the ‘Fatiha’ ceremony or to Abbas Ansari’s ancestral home. The bench also recorded the statement of senior advocate Kapil Sibal, appearing for Abbas, that Abbas would not address the media. The bench said that Abbas had lost his father and could not attend the last rites as he was in judicial custody.

Mukhtar died on March 28.

Earlier, Abbas had approached the Supreme Court for permission to attend his father’s funeral, but his application could not be registered in time and the burial was postponed. The last rites of five-time MLA from Mao Mukhtar Ansari were performed in Ghazipur on March 30 amid tight security. As Mukhtar Ansari’s condition worsened, he was admitted to Rani Durgavati Medical College from Banda Jail, where he died on the night of March 28.
