Apple CEO Tim Cook had said that the last quarter of fiscal 2022 has recorded the highest iPhone sales in India. Along with this, the company also shared information about iPhone sales in double digits.

Why are iPhone sales increasing in India?

4.8 million iPhones were sold in India in 2021, which is 75% more than in 2020. In the year 2022, more than 7 million iPhones have been sold across the country. In such a situation, the number of iPhone buyers is doubling every year. As of 2018, the number of iPhone buyers across the country was only 2 million. In such a situation, the biggest question arises that what is the real reason for the sudden increase in iPhone sales in the country?

According to media reports, 7 out of every 10 iPhones sold in the country are bought on EMI. iPhone 14 price in India is Rs 79,900. However, you can get it from the Apple Store for just Rs 9,404 on EMI. Apart from this, a large number of people in the country are also buying iPhones on EMI from platforms like Amazon. Amazon is selling the iPhone 15 to customers at a starting price of just Rs 3,746.

Apple reached out to the middle class through EMI

Apple has made major changes in its strategy for market expansion in India over the past few years. The company is selling Apple iPhone and MacBook etc. to people on EMI. As such, Apple has reached beyond the high-income group to students. Nowadays even students can buy Apple with only their pocket money. Despite being a premium brand, the iPhone has now reached the hands of the middle class due to the EMI option.
