Mysore: Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Saturday met his political rival and senior BJP leader V Srinivas Prasad at his residence in Mysore after 7 years. During the conversation, Siddaramaiah reportedly sought Prasad’s support for the Congress in the Lok Sabha elections. Let us tell you that Srinivas Prasad is the sitting BJP MP from Chamarajnagar Lok Sabha seat. However, he has announced his retirement from politics before the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

‘He was with the Congress for a long time’

After meeting Prasad, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said, ‘I told him that initially he was with the Congress for a long time and asked him to sympathize with the Congress. Prasad and I have been good friends for a long time. Srinivas Prasad said that the Chief Minister had come to inquire about his welfare. He said, ‘Since I retired from politics, they have come to inquire about my health. We were separated for a long time due to various reasons. We met again today and did not discuss politics. We miss the good old days.

‘He sought the support of the Congress’

Prasad added, ‘I was a minister in his cabinet and he was close to me. Naturally, he sought the support of the Congress. Asked about his participation in Prime Minister Modi’s program in Mysore on Sunday, Srinivas Prasad said he has retired from politics. “I will not participate in any political campaign or political program of any political party,” he said. When he was asked if he had received an invitation to attend the event, he said that he had not and would not receive an invitation. He said, ‘I will not participate either.’
