In Gwalior, two women allegedly beat their 65-year-old mother-in-law to death with the help of other family members. Police said that three persons have been arrested in this case and search for other accused is on. An alleged video of this incident is also going viral on social media.

Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh). Two women allegedly beat their 65-year-old mother-in-law to death with the help of other family members in Madhya Pradesh’s Gwalior district. Police gave this information on Tuesday. After an investigation, police arrested three people on Monday in connection with the incident that took place last month and are looking for other suspects, an official said.

An alleged video of this incident has also gone viral on social media. Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Niranjan Sharma said Manidevi (65) was allegedly beaten up by her daughter-in-law Savitri, Chanda and her elder son Dharmendra on March 7 with sticks and stones. He said that the woman died on March 9. Investigation revealed that five other members of the family had also helped the accused, the officer said.

He said the police had initially registered a case of assault, but now sections 302 (murder) and 120B (criminal conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code have been added to the case. Savitri and two others have been arrested, while other family members are absconding, he said.
