New Delhi: In view of the expected increase in travel demand this summer, the Ministry of Railways is going to increase the number of additional trains by 43%. This will help more passengers reach their desired destinations easily. To ensure passenger convenience and keeping in view the expected increase in travel demand during summer, the Railways is going to run a record 9,111 train trips during the summer season, the railway ministry said in a statement.

“This represents a substantial increase compared to the summer of 2023 when a total of 6,369 additional trains were offered,” the railway ministry said. “All zonal railways spread across the country received these additional orders from Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Odisha, West Bengal, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Delhi, Jharkhand during the summer,” the railway ministry said.
