Indian stock markets opened higher on Tuesday. All market indices are trading strongly. The BSE Sensex was up 293.95 points or 0.40 percent at 73,939 and the NSE Nifty was up 82 points or 0.37 percent at 22,417. The Bank Nifty was up 285 points or 0.58 percent at 49,381 points.

As of 9:30 am on NSE, 1539 shares are trading in green tick and 420 shares in red tick. Mid-cap and small-cap shares are showing an upward trend. Auto, IT, FMCG, media, realty, infra, energy stocks remain bullish. However, metal stocks are trading in the red.

Gainers and losers

Shares of Bharti Airtel, HCL Tech, Bajaj Finserv, Titan, NTPC, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Tata Motors, Infosys, ITC, HUL, Asian Paints, Wipro, Sun Pharma, UltraTech Cement, Tech Mahindra, Tata Steel, Nestle, SBI and TCS The roses are open. While L&T, Power Grid, Reliance, Axis Bank, IndusInd Bank, ICICI and JSW Steel opened in the red.

State of global markets

A bullish trend is being seen in global markets. Markets in Tokyo, Hong Kong, Seoul, Jakarta and Bangkok are bullish. However, Shanghai markets are trading in the red. Today, crude oil prices are increasing. Benchmark Brent crude is trading at $87 a barrel, up half a percent, and WTI crude is trading at $82 a barrel.
