Halfling (Assam): An Indian Army Major and his wife have been arrested for harassing a domestic worker in Assam’s Dima Hasao district. Major’s name is Shailendra Yadav. He is currently posted in Palampur, Himachal Pradesh. According to information, Major Shailendra married Kimmy Ralson two years ago during his posting at Dima Hasao.
The Major’s wife had taken a minor with her to help with household chores.
Major Shailendra Yadav was then transferred from Haflong in Assam to Palampur in Himachal Pradesh. Kimmy Ralson, the major’s wife, took a minor with her from Sunkijing Village to help with the household chores. According to the allegations, Kimmy Ralson allegedly molested a minor. According to the allegations, the minor was physically tortured, scalded with hot water and stripped. Recently, on September 24, the minor girl returned to her family in Halfling.
Hafling appeared before the Judicial Magistrate.
After their arrest, Major Shailendra Yadav and Kimmy Ralson were produced before the Haflong Judicial Magistrate. The court ordered both to be sent to judicial custody. The minor is currently undergoing treatment at Hafling Civil Hospital. The Dima Hasav police have charged him with IPC sections 326 (voluntarily causing grievous hurt), 374 (unlawful forced labour), 354 (criminal force with intent to assault or injure a woman), 506 (Criminal Intimidation), 370 has been registered. A case has been registered against the Major and his wife under Section 34 (purchase of a person as a slave).
