Patra Paksha 2023 Pind Dan: People perform all the rituals related to Shraddha at home, but some important pilgrimage sites are also mentioned in the scriptures. Performing Shraddha ritual or Pind Dhan at these places gives a person special achievements and fulfills all his wishes. So today know from Acharya Indu Prakash which are the places where ancestors will get relief by offering Pindaan, Tarpan or Shraddha.

Enlightened

Located in the Magadha region on the banks of the Falgu River in the state of Bihar, it is one of the oldest and holiest pilgrimage sites, where people from across the country and abroad come to offer pind dan to their ancestors. It is referred to as the land of salvation in the Vishnu Purana and the Vyva Purana. It is also known as Vishnu Nagri. Vishnu himself is said to be present here in the form of the ancestral deity and Brahmaji himself offered panda dan to his ancestors. In Trita Yuga, Lord Shri Rama also had his father and King Dasharatha’s pind dan here. It is said that up to 108 clans and seven generations are saved by the Pind Dan performed here. There are currently 48 shrines in Gaya, where ancestors are cremated. There is a place – Akshay Wat, where there is a tradition of making offerings to the ancestors. It is said that the donation made here is eternal. The more you donate, the more you will definitely get back.

Kashi

To liberate the ancestors from the hindrances of ghosts, Shraddha and Pind Daan are performed in Kashi. Satok, Rajasic, Tamasic – These three types of ghost spirits are considered and to get rid of these ghosts, three clay urns are made in the entire country only in Vampire Mochankund of Kashi and on this urn are Lord Shankar, Brahma etc. And black, red and white flags are waved as symbols of Vishnu. After this Shraddha is performed. Performing Shraddha here brings salvation to the ancestors, that is why Kashi, which is called the city of religion and spirituality, is also called the city of salvation. There is always happiness in the home of one who performs Shraddha in Kashi.

Haridwar

Ancestor pand daan is done near Narayani Shila in Haridwar. It is believed that by performing Pind Dhan here, the Karma of the ancestors will always remain on the person performing Pind Dhan, there will always be happiness and peace in his life and luck will always be with him.

Kurukshetra

In Kurukshetra, Haryana, it is considered best to do Shraddha for those who died an untimely death on Pehuva Tirth and especially on Amavasya. Shraddhas are performed here for those who died prematurely in accidents or due to weapon attacks. According to the Mahabharata, Dharma king Yudhishthira performed Shraddha and Pindaan only in the Pehava Tirtha of his family members killed in battle. It is mentioned in the Viman Purana that in ancient times, King Prithu performed the Shraddha of his descendant King Vena here. It is said that one who performs Shraddha or Pind Dhan here is blessed with an excellent child, which becomes his strong support in old age.
