Cashless Everywhere: There is a big news for health insurance providers. Now the problem of network hospital in cashless treatment for health insurance policy holders is over. Now people with health insurance will be able to get treatment at any hospital, anywhere without cash.

Now you can get treatment in any hospital.

For this, the General Insurance Council (GIC) on Wednesday launched a cashless campaign everywhere. Under this campaign, policy holders will get the freedom to get their treatment at any hospital. With this, policyholders will now get cashless treatment at hospitals outside their policy network.

The customer had to face such a problem.

Until now, people with health insurance could avail cashless treatment only at hospitals that were part of their insurance company’s network. Earlier, if they were treated in any other hospital, they had to pay from their own pocket. Later the policyholder makes a claim with the insurance company, which is approved after verification.

Hence the campaign was launched.

Many times it takes a long time to complete the treatment and then claim to the policy holder. The insurance company then spends time in verifying the claim and other processes. This meant that the policyholder had to fund the treatment for some time even after the policy was issued. Due to this, one of the main objectives of health insurance could not be fulfilled, which is to provide financial protection against diseases to the policy holder.

Decision after consultation with insurance companies

Keeping this in mind, GIC has decided to remove network restrictions in case of cashless treatment. Before launching the everywhere cashless initiative, the council consulted with general and health insurance companies. It was then decided to launch this campaign, so that health insurance holders can get treatment at any hospital without worrying about financial arrangements.

You will find the benefits of Cashless Everywhere as follows:

  • In case of emergency, the customer must inform the insurance company within 48 hours of admission.
  • If there is no emergency, the insurance company must be notified 48 hours before admission.
  • The claim must be admissible under the insurance policy held by the customer.
  • Cashless facility should be included in customer policy.
