Gianavapi case hearing in Allahabad High Court

The Allahabad High Court has completed today’s hearing on the Gianavapi case and now the case will be heard again on February 15 at 10 am. In the Allahabad High Court, the hearing in the case of performing puja in the Gyanvapi basement of the Kashi Vishwanath temple complex began today at 10 am. In fact, the Muslim side has approached the Allahabad High Court against the Varanasi district judge’s decision to allow the Hindu side to worship in Vyasji’s basement. The mosque committee has challenged the January 31 verdict of the Varanasi district judge and sought a stay on the district judge’s order allowing worship.

These arguments were given by the lawyer of the mosque committee.

Masjid Committee’s lawyer Syed Farman Naqvi gave arguments in the court today. During the hearing, Farman Naqvi raised questions on the January 17 order appointing the DM as receiver. Naqvi alleged that the order was made under the influence of the plaintiff. He said that what the plaintiff said was accepted as ultimate truth or divine truth. There is no written statement as to who claimed the right to Vyasji’s basement after 30 years.

The Babri Masjid case was also placed before the court

Not only this, in today’s hearing, Naqvi has also placed the matter of Babri Masjid before the High Court. He said that a person from Nirmohi Akhara had demanded rights in the Babri case. Later, the Supreme Court rejected the petition after ground investigation. They have come here after 31 years to demand their rights and the lower court has also accepted their request. Masjid Committee lawyers Puneet Gupta and Farman Naqvi argued in the High Court today. The court has fixed February 15 for the next hearing in this matter.

What arguments were given in the last hearing?

During the hearing held last Wednesday, the two sides argued in the court for about an hour and a half, after which a bench of Justice Rohit Ranjan Agarwal asked both the sides to prove their respective claims. During this time, while the right of the temple to worship in the Gianavapi basement was justified, the Muslim side alleged a nexus between the temple and the UP government. The Muslim side says the basement was being used only as a storeroom, but the Hindu side claims that daily worship was held there until 1993.

After that, the petition of the mosque committee reached the Allahabad High Court to ban the permission to worship in the basement of Vyasji in Gyanvapi, which was heard today. Today, the lawyer of the management committee of the mosque presented its position in the court. The hearing is taking place in the single bench of Justice Rohit Ranjan Agarwal.
