New Delhi: The dates of the Lok Sabha elections have been announced. In such a situation, all the parties have accelerated their preparations. BJP may finalize sheet sharing formula in Karnataka today. There JDS is demanding Hassan, Mandya and Kolar seats.
How many Lok Sabha seats are there in Karnataka?
Karnataka has 28 Lok Sabha seats. In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the BJP-led NDA won a total of 26 seats here. Out of which 25 were won by BJP alone. There JDS and Congress alliance got only 2 seats. JDS is competing with BJP in this election.
This time also NDA is expecting a better performance but it will face tough competition from the Indian alliance.
Why is Karnataka important?
Karnataka is considered the gateway to the south. Karnataka plays an important role in the Lok Sabha elections. It is an IT hub and its contribution to the country’s economy is significant. Currently Congress is in power here but BJP is trying hard to win the Lok Sabha elections here.
Apart from this, Karnataka may play a decisive role in the elections. There are 28 Lok Sabha seats. Whichever party gets the maximum number of these seats can have an edge in getting a majority.
