Shami Kapoor Marriage: Actor Shami Kapoor created a sensation on the screen with his acting magic. Fans loved the actor’s romantic style in the films. Apart from reel life, Shammi’s real life love story was also quite filmy. Shammi Kapoor married Geeta Bali in 1955. Shami did this marriage in haste. Shami’s family also did not know about this marriage.

What actually happened was that Shami proposed Geeta for marriage several times, but Geeta refused every time. But one night Shammi asked Geeta if she would marry me and Geeta immediately said yes. But Geeta had stipulated that the marriage must take place now. Then on the same day Shammi Kapoor married Geeta.

Talking about this, Shami had said in an interview – ‘We got married in 1955 in Bandra at 4 am. It took seven rounds and then Geeta took out the lipstick from her purse and gave it to me. Geeta said – fulfill my demand then I fulfilled the demand. It was beautiful.

Geeta was one year older than Shami.

Let us tell you that Shammi Kapoor and Geeta met on the sets of the film and this is where they fell in love. Meanwhile, Geeta was a successful actress and Shami had made a new entry. Geeta was a year older than Shami and worked with Shami’s father Prithviraj and brother Raj Kapoor.

Talking about this, Shami had said- ‘Geeta worked with my father and brother. I didn’t know how my family would react to this relationship. My family was not there when I married Geeta. I told Raj ji after marriage. He didn’t mind. Then I called my father and said – papa ji, I have brought my daughter-in-law, so he said, come to Bhopal again, let’s bless you.

It is known that Geeta died in 1965. Shami then married Neela Devi. Shami Kapoor breathed his last in 2011.
