Senior Congress leader Digvijay Singh on Friday said the party has “indicated” that he may be fielded from the Rajgarh Lok Sabha seat in Madhya Pradesh. The Congress is yet to announce candidates for 19 of the 29 seats in the state, including Rajgarh. Asked whether he would contest the Lok Sabha election from Rajgarh, Singh told reporters, “It has not been announced yet, but I have been given an indication.”

‘This choice is not for me…’

Answering another question, he said, “This will be the last election of my life and I hope people will support me and the Congress.” have said, they have also accepted. This order. Now a video of him is also going viral in which he can be heard telling his workers that this election is not in their control. Therefore, their young workers will have to contest this election.

He said that ‘no announcement has been made yet but I have been told that I have to contest the election, this election is not in my power because I am 75 years old, this election is the election of the youth, you have to fight. It will be fought very simply at the booth, no need to make a lot of noise or make big rallies, everyone will fight hard at the booth.”

Digvijay was elected MP from Rajgarh in 1984 and 1991.

Rajgarh is represented by BJP MP Rodmal Nagar, who won in 2014 and 2019. Nagar is BJP’s candidate in the general elections this time as well. Singh was elected MP from Rajgarh in 1984 and 1991. After becoming the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh in 1993, the seat was held by his brother Laxman Singh from 1994 (by-election) to 2004. Laxman won the 2004 Lok Sabha elections from here on a BJP ticket, but Singh’s close associate Narayan Singh Amalabe defeated Laxman Singh in 2009. In 2014, Nagar defeated Amalabe and then retained the seat in 2019. (language)
