New Delhi: Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti has ridiculed former Union Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad’s statement about ‘Hindu ancestors’. Mufti Sahib has said that Ghulam Nabi Azad should step back, lest his ancestors become monkeys. Along with this, on the ongoing hearing in the Supreme Court regarding the abolition of most of the provisions of Article 370, Mehbooba said that now the challenge before the country’s highest court is whether she plays the role of Krishna or Dhritarashtra.

‘Their ancestors turned out to be monkeys’

Making fun of Ghulam Nabi Azad’s statement, Mehbooba Mufti said that I don’t know how far Ghulam Nabi Azad is going back. If he goes back a little, lest his ancestors become monkeys. Let us tell you that Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad had said that ‘Islam came 1500 years ago. Hinduism is very old, so 10-20 must have come from outside, when they were in their army during Mughal times. All others have converted from Hindu to Muslim in India. An example of this is in our Kashmir.

‘The challenge before the Supreme Court is that…’
At the same time, PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti said that she hopes to get justice from the Supreme Court on the hearing of petitions challenging the abrogation of Article 370 in the Supreme Court. We hope the Supreme Court will do justice. Our struggle does not end here. Our struggle will continue. The challenge before the Supreme Court is whether he plays the role of Krishna or Dhritarashtra. Let us tell you that Mehbooba Mufti often targets the central government for abrogation of Article 370 and alleges that the situation in Kashmir is getting worse.
